(Inter)National Service and Leadership.

I serve the national community of educational research more broadly, and the field of social studies teacher education more specifically, in the following ways.

Spencer Educational Foundation

I was invited to serve as a reviewer for three rounds of small research grant proposals for the Spencer Educational Foundation in 2022. Each round requires the review of about 20 proposals for up to $50,000 each.

Elementary Social Studies Education Summit (ESSES)

As co-founder of the Elementary Social Studies Education Summit, I work to plan and organize the annual conference, review proposals, and provide an inclusive space for all presenters and attendees. Our inaugural Summit was in 2019, and after a break in 2020, we successfully planned and held virtual Summits in 2021 and 2022, and we are busy planning for 2023. Here's the website we created for ESSES 2022
